Award-winning album artwork for Rattle That Lock, created in collaboration with Pink Floyd’s legendary creative director Aubrey Powell.
Rattle That Lock marked David Gilmour’s return after nearly a decade, a solo number-one album from a true icon of British music. As co-lead vocalist and guitarist of Pink Floyd, Gilmour’s creative legacy spans generations, and this release needed artwork that could both reflect and elevate his singular voice.
Under the creative direction of Dave Stansbie, we were honoured to collaborate with Aubrey Powell, founder of the legendary design studio Hipgnosis and long-time creative director for Pink Floyd. Together, we crafted an album cover that complemented the album’s themes of freedom, movement, and introspection. The result was a striking, cinematic cover that earned the title of Best Album Artwork at the 2016 Art Vinyl Awards.
From concept development to artwork production and rollout, the collaboration fused timeless rock heritage with modern design thinking, a rare opportunity to help shape the visual legacy of one of the greatest artists in music history.
